Sarah Todd's career in journalism started when she was just 18, way back in 1991. She won many awards, including publisher EMAP'S Trainee Reporter of the Year, and quickly rose through the newspaper ranks to the position of chief reporter (with news desk experience).
By the time she was 25, Sarah was one of the youngest editors in the country. She took over the reins at the upmarket county magazine Yorkshire Life and the circulation more than doubled from around 10,000 to over 25,000 copy sales per month.
After seven years in a job she loved, Sarah worried her young children would start calling the childminder "mummy" because of her long working hours. So, she turned freelance in 2005. She's occasionally had her arm twisted to do some editing but mostly concentrates on writing.
She has a reputation for finding the kind of quirky stories so loved by the likes of the Daily Telegraph. She's also a popular columnist; her work described as “deftly drawn with humour and lightness of touch”.
